CHDR
The Centre for Human Drug Research is an organization specializing in early-phase drug research. This includes studies where a new potential drug is tested in humans for the first time. These could be healthy volunteers or patients with a specific condition.
What sets CHDR apart is the pleasant and open atmosphere, the high quality of studies based on pharmacological knowledge, while also placing a strong focus on the individual nature of the participants.
Interested in a (research) internship where you actively contribute to a clinical study under the supervision of a project leader/doctor? This is possible! MSc internships with a duration of 6 or 9 months are particularly suitable. In this case, contact the study advisor or the educational coordinator at CHDR: Jeroen van Smeden (jvsmeden@chdr.nl).
LACDR
The LACDR, Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, is the research institute where we receive our education. It is also the place where the majority of students undertake their bachelor internship. However, after the bachelor’s degree, you can also continue your internship at LACDR, which offers opportunities in the following three well-known clusters:
- BioTherapeutics
- Drug Discovery and Safety
- Systems Pharmacology and Biomedicine
BENU
Brocacef Group is a recognized training company and has extensive experience with internships and work-study placements at various educational levels. Whether you are studying at MBO, HBO, or WO level, we offer plenty of opportunities to get acquainted with various professions and roles. We are happy to take the time to properly train and personally guide you.
Where will you step into practice? Every year, we welcome over 450 students. Within our nationwide network of BENU pharmacies, there are internship opportunities available throughout the year. Our other business units also offer numerous opportunities to gain practical experience. For example, you can intern in logistics or have a work-study placement at our headquarters. No matter where you step into practice within our organization, there is plenty of room for your personal development.

ScienceWorks
ScienceWorks is a consultancy that supports the valorization of scientific knowledge. Valorization is the process of creating value from scientific research for the benefit of the economy and society. Valorization involves transferring knowledge into practice.
